HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYONE!
May 28, 2012
This is the day to remember all our service men and women and be thankful to them. All of these wonderful people, past and present and future, are true heroes!! My Dad is a World War II hero. He often tells us fascinating stories of being in the Army Air Corps, flying bombing runs over Germany. Our troops freed Europe from the Nazis. What a time it must have been. What a different world it would be today if not for the US and our Allies defeating the bad guys!
I am a patriotic type, I guess. Love this country. I am proud of America, with all the faults, it's still the best. Maybe I should do a series of patriotic paintings. Any thoughts on this idea, anyone? Do you like patriotic art?

AWARD WINNING PET PORTRAIT
January 11, 2012
Good way to start the New Year...getting a 2nd place award at the Don Vista for my "Golden Puppy" pet portrait. I enjoy doing pet portraits and strive to capture the personality of the pet. I work from photos (who can get the little rascals to stay still?) I have recently finished another cute dog, which was done on commission. I will post it soon. If you are interested in a pet portrait please email me and I can step you thru the process. It's really quite easy, just email me your favorite photo and I'll get back to you!

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
December 19, 2011
It's been a busy time, due to preparing the gallery exhibit plus the usual holiday prep. The gallery opening was a great success and I thank each and every one of you that came out to support this event .My artwork is still on exhibit at the Tarpon Springs Artists Faire gallery until Christmas, please check it out!
I have added a new line of paintings called "mini masterpieces." These are small original paintings that still adhere to all the principles of fine art. That is they have a sense of composition, line, color and detail that would hold up even under magnification. This is quite a challenging art form, and I'm enjoying exploring it. I am offering them at a very low price point at this time, via my newsletter. Currently I have some on display at the Tarpon Artists Faire Gallery as well. They are under $100.
I hope you all have a blessed and happy Christmas and New Year.

Special Presentation at Tarpon Springs
November 20, 2011
I will be the featured artist in Tarpon Springs at the Artists Faire Gallery , December 9th - 23rd, 2011. I have been painting a number of new works this summer. I always wonder what subjects appeal to people. Is it landscapes, pets, children, florals? I enjoy painting them all, so some of everything will be there at the gallery. I paint what attracts me at the moment. It could be a certain color combination, or the way the light hits the subject, or maybe the feeling it evokes. I snap photos and then the process of creating my interpretation of the scene begins. More on my painting process will be covered in upcoming blogs.
